Chiefs get their teeth into fundraising burgers!

Members of the Exeter Chiefs squad have already been showing their support to the Exeter Foundation, which is set to benefit every time someone tucks into a specially-made ‘Chiefs Burger’ at Urban Burger in the City Centre.

In a new incentive thought up by Urban Burger owner Garth and Melissa Pearse, the Foundation will benefit to the tune of 50p each time a customer orders the mouth-watering Chiefs Burger, which is made up of two 6oz prime Red Ruby Devon beef patties, bacon, fried onions, mayo and two slices of American cheese.

Garth says he is delighted to be supporting the Foundation, stating: “For a number of years we have given donations to FORCE, which is one of the Foundation Charities, but we felt if we donated through the Chiefs Burger not only would FORCE benefit, but so too would a number of other charities around the city.

“Already we’ve had the thumbs-up from a number of the players and staff who have come into the restaurant and we’re hoping more and more people will take up the offer.”

The Exeter Foundation, which supports 17 local charities, is a civic trust that was born out of the desire of the Exeter Chiefs and a group of Exeter businessmen to create a focus for the future of the city and its surroundings, for the benefit of all citizens.

Set up in 2010, the Foundation has already been a huge success story and has helped to amass over £160,000 for charities including North and East Devon Prostate Support Association; Exeter Samaritans; Children’s Hospice Southwest; Dream-a-Way; Exeter Lions; Exeter Youth Section; Families for Children; FORCE; Hospiscare; Ellen Tinkham; Richard’s Wish; Vranch House; Wooden Spoon; Age UK Exeter; the C Group; Exeter Paediatric Oncology; Exeter Foodbank and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Urban Burger, which is located at 44 Queen Street and is open daily from 12 noon, offers facilities for parties and private dining and is renowned locally for their ‘Man versus Food’ Challenges.
