ELF Runners enjoy evening with Jo Pavey
Exeter Leukaemia Fund were delighted to welcome special guest, Olympian and ELF Vice Patron, Jo Pavey, to their second Let’s Talk Running event which was held at the Buckerell Lodge Hotel on Tuesday 23 July.
The events are held for runners of all abilities who are currently training to run an event in aid of ELF, have run for ELF in the past, or are interested in running for ELF in the future.
The relaxed, informal and interactive atmosphere at the Buckerell Lodge ensured that the evening flew past, with Jo talking to the attendees about her experiences in the world of running and of course the London Olympics.
Much was learnt from Jo about nutrition, training and preparation for track and road events, along with some the challenges that being a world class athlete can bring. Jo will also be contributing articles for ELF’s new running community blog, which is being administered by Katie, one of our brilliant volunteers and a member of the running community. The blog which we hope will inspire new and existing runners can be found at: www.run4elf.wordpress.com.
Jo Pavey said, “It was so great to meet some of the ELF runners at the ‘Let’s Talk Running ‘evening. They are such a lovely group of people who are so enthusiastic about their sport. It is wonderful that they are supporting ELF. I really enjoyed chatting to them and I wish them all the best with all their training and racing.”
ELF would like to thank the Buckerell Lodge Hotel who sponsored the event, everyone who attended and Jo for being such a wonderful guest.
