Exeter-based Rainbow Living is inviting local children and disabled adults to celebrate Mother’s Day by getting involved in a special competition to show their mum how much they love them.

All entrants need to do is design a Mother’s Day card to be in with a chance of winning an amazing Mother’s Day hamper, kindly donated by Sainsbury’s Pinhoe.

The charity is delighted to announce the support of Sarah Turner (aka the ‘Unmumsy Mum’ Exeter blogger!) as a guest judge.  Sarah is an award-winning blogger and her first book - The Unmumsy Mum - has just been published.

Children aged 12 or under and disabled adults of any age are invited to draw, colour or pCaint a card which reflects the theme of Mother’s Day; this theme can be interpreted in any way they choose!

The competition is open from the 20th February to the 2nd March and the winner’s presentation will take place on Saturday 5th March at Sainsbury’s Pinhoe.

Entry forms can be downloaded from http://rainbowliving.org.uk/get-involved/mothers-day-competition/ or collected in person from Sainsbury’s Pinhoe.  Completed entry forms, designs and entry fee must be submitted to Sainsbury’s Pinhoe by midnight on Wednesday 2nd March.

There is an entry fee of £2 per entry; all proceeds from the competition will go to Rainbow Living, which is Sainsbury’s Pinhoe ‘Charity of the Year’.  Rainbow Living is a volunteer-run charity which provides accommodation to enable learning disabled adults to live with their peers in supported living.

Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living said: “We are thrilled to be running this competition with Sainsbury’s Pinhoe and very grateful that Sarah will be our guest judge, especially as she is busy with her forthcoming book tour.  All funds raised from the competition will be put towards the total needed to purchase our third Rainbow house, enabling another group of young learning disabled adults to live with their peers within the local community.”

Good luck to everyone entering the competition!
