Paul and Barry call on their fans in Exeter to take the Chuckle Challenge and volunteer their time to raise vital funds for Marie Curie Nurses

The Chuckle Brothers want YOU to join them this March, by getting behind the Great Daffodil Appeal – Marie Curie’s biggest fundraising appeal of the year.

The legendary and much-loved duo have donated their time, appearing in a photo shoot to celebrate 30 years of the appeal and are now calling on citizens of Exeter to volunteer as collectors.

The annual Great Daffodil Appeal sees thousands of volunteers hitting the street to collect donations in return for daffodil pins but there are still more volunteers needed. In response, Paul and Barry have issued the Chuckle Challenge, urging people in Exeter to sign up as soon as possible to donate a small amount of their time.

Collections will be taking place in Exeter on 12th March and we have a couple of supermarket collections on alternative dates too.

To take the Chuckle Challenge and support the Great Daffodil Appeal in Torbay people need only to visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/daffodil or call 0845 601 3107.

The money raised from the appeal will help Marie Curie Nurses provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.

Paul said: “What’s great about the Great Daffodil Appeal is that you only need a little bit of time spare to support Marie Curie’s amazing nurses. That’s why we want as many of you from the area as possible to get involved. Don’t we Barry?”

Barry said: “Yes, we do. Raising money for Marie Curie is as easy as falling off a log. So all you need to do is find a log and fall off it.”

“Oh dear, oh dear” added Paul.

Marie Curie nurse, Claire who also appeared in the photo shoot said: “It was amazing to meet Paul and Barry. I’ve loved them since I was a kid and I’m delighted that they’re helping us by supporting the daffodil appeal. The money we raise is essential to the work that we do and makes a real difference for people who are living with a terminal illness and their families. It helps us to care for more people who need us.”

You can also sign up for a Great Daffodil Appeal fundraising pack that includes ideas and resources for getting behind the daffodil in your own way by visiting www.mariecurie.org.uk/daffodil. Or, to donate £5 text DAFF to 70111 or call 0800 716 146 and donate over the phone.
