Your old unwanted scrap car can help ELF!

Three years ago, Exeter Leukaemia Fund was one of the first charities to join forces with Giveacar, which was a new non-profit social enterprise that encourages car owners to scrap or sell their old unwanted cars in a professional manner, giving the proceeds to the charity of their choice.

From small beginnings like ELF, Giveacar has grown from dealing with 7 cars per month to 50 per week. Recently they reached a milestone of £1 million donated to charities all over the UK, with Giveacar receiving many awards. During this period ELF supporters have taken part in this scheme with the latest vehicle generating £66 for the charity.

ELF is not only appealing to car owners of Devon but also to owners of motorcycles, mobility scooters, ride-on lawnmowers and farm machinery  to make a lasting and positive difference to the charity and the environment by donating your old unwanted vehicle today. The process is very simple. Call the Giveacar team on: 020 7736 4242 quoting Exeter Leukaemia Fund as your chosen charity or visit www.giveacar.co.uk They will then arrange a convenient time to send a tow truck, even if it does not start without any cost to the owner and to anywhere in the UK.

In addition to Giveacar’s scrap scheme, they will also accept roadworthy cars which can be auctioned, and are likely to raise substantially more money for ELF.

Tom Chance, CEO of Giveacar, says: “I am delighted that ELF has been able to benefit as we have grown. Our service has a dual function, to help preserve the environment and to raise money for charities. The DVLA reports that 2 million cars are taken off the road, yet only 1 million cars are disposed of at an authorised treatment facility. At Giveacar, we only use authorised facilities that recycle a minimum of 85% of the weight of your vehicle.”

This is a simple and effective scheme which is beneficial to the individual, the charity and the environment. Please help us, by donating your old scrap vehicle today. Donations generated will help to pay for the new ELF transport service, helping leukaemia sufferers in Devon and the South West.” Comments Dale Edwards, CEO, ELF.
