FORCE runners London Marathon 2025

Good luck Team FORCE at the London Marathon

FORCE will have five people taking part in this year’s London Marathon on Sunday April 27 .

Linda Grady, Sarah Moffat, Georgie Pigott, Ben Trigg, and Mark Wadeley-Jones will proudly wear the Team FORCE vest as they line up for start in Greenwich Park as part of a field of 56,000 runners.

They will tackle 26.2 miles around the capital and are on course to raise a fantastic amount of money for FORCE to help support local people affected by cancer.

Local Kia dealership, Marsh Kia, is gifting a brand-new Kia Stonic to Living Options Devon, to help raise vital funds for the projects, services and support they provide to people with disabilities and Deaf people (BSL users). To get the fundraising started, Marsh Kia has also offered a cheque for £250.

Local project Deaf Journey to Employment is awarded £10,000 by the National Lottery Community Fund

The Deaf Lead Services team at Living Options Devon are celebrating being awarded almost £10,000 in National Lottery funding to support Deaf people who use British Sign Language (BSL), to build confidence and learn new skills so that they can enter employment. We are a friendly, social group who raise money to support the Hospice services that are provided in Crediton and the surrounding communities.

We enjoy organising fun, local events in the town and are proud to say we raise thousands of pounds each year to help support the local nurses who care for people in our community in their homes when they have been given a terminal diagnosis and need expert end of life care.

We hold regular coffee mornings, a Ladies Pamper Evening and support those who open their gardens for us in the summer. Our next big event is on Friday 28th June...

Taylor Wimpey Exeter raises over £8,250 for good causes

The team at Taylor Wimpey Exeter have raised over £8,250 for three good causes as part of the housebuilder’s annual Taylor Wimpey Challenge.

This year, 12 members of the Exeter team scaled the Brecon Beacons - both on foot and by bicycle - in aid of national and regional good causes. Challengers tackled a range of hiking and cycling routes including the Taylor Wimpey Titan challenge, a 112km hike and bike ride for the most hardy participants.

Housebuilder’s donation gives charity its own magic touch

A charity set up in the memory of Somerset youngster Elliot Stevens has received a £1,000 windfall from Barratt Homes in Exeter after becoming the latest recipient of the housebuilder’s new community initiative.

The Barratt and David Wilson Homes Community Fund donates £1,000 each month to a charity or organisation and the fund is part of the company’s pledge to strengthen its ties with the areas in which it is building new homes.

Helen Patterson, who in 2018 had surgery to remove a brain tumour which left her with a titanium eye socket and an eyelid that won’t open, is scooting from Exeter to Exmouth on Friday 14th June to raise money for the charity Brain Tumour Support .

Fifteen charities based in Devon have received donations of £1,000 each as part of the Movement for Good awards.

The awards, set up by specialist insurer Ecclesiastical, will see a total of £1million given to charities across the UK this summer. Members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts, with 500 awards of £1,000 available for donation.
