Tag Rugby Kicks off Queen Elizabeth’s Annual Sports Partnership
12 Primary Schools Participate in First Event of the Sports Partnership Calendar
Following the World Cup, rugby was still very much on the QE Sports Partnership agenda with twelve primary schools participating in a mammoth three-hour session of Tag Rugby recently.
With 32 teams battling it out, QE’s 31 Year 9 Sports Leaders were kept very much on their toes, refereeing a total of 80 matches and awarding 300 tries.
After group stages and three knockout rounds, Landscore School retained their title beating Newton St Cyres to hold onto the trophy!
Ross Gillon, PE Teacher at QE, who heads up the Sports Partnership said; “A great start to our Sports Partnership this academic year! We saw real commitment from our competing primaries and solid leadership from our Year 9’s on the day. Congratulations, once again, to Landscore for retaining their Tag Rugby title, a worthy win, and well done to all our Year 5 & 6 participants.”
Coming up next on the Sports Partnership calendar; fantastic Gymnastics for Years 3 & 4.
