Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park welcomes 21 new animals in two new areas set to open at the start of May half term. From Saturday 28th May guests to Crealy will be able to see, learn about and handle some of the new animal inhabitants of Tortoise Town and Snake Pit.

In recent weeks, Crealy has taken in three Corn Snakes, one Royal Python, one Milk Snake, one Boa Constrictor, six Bearded Dragons, four Crested Geckos, one Berber Skink, two Carpet Pythons and two Sulcata Tortoises. The animals will be housed in brand new, purpose built enclosures providing the animals with exactly the right habitats and conditions for their health and wellbeing.

Josh Haywood, Crealy General Manager says, “People have donated the tortoises and reptiles to Crealy as they could no longer keep them as pets. So we are giving talks about the animals and offering handling sessions as a way for our guests to learn about them. We are looking forward to seeing our guests’ reactions to our new animals this half term.”

Guests can see the animals up close in their new habitats as well as listen to reptile talks and handle some of the snakes and reptiles under the supervision of the Animal Kingdom team. Kate Lewis, Animal Kingdom Manager says, “There is a lack of knowledge about keeping tortoises and reptiles as pets and so unfortunately some people buy them from pet shops without realising how long they will live, how big they will grow, how much space they will need and how much it will cost. We are passionate about caring for these animals and showing guests what a commitment they are to take on as pets.”

Kids visiting Crealy this May half term will also receive a free Animal Activity booklet full of wildlife themed puzzles and games to complete at the Park and take home.

To celebrate the launch of Tortoise Town and Snake Pit and the excitement of the new additions, Crealy is asking the public to suggest names for the female Crested Gecko.  Keep an eye for the competition post on the Crealy Facebook page - www.facebook.com/DevonsCrealy.

Live family shows will also take place across the Park throughout half term including music and dance mayhem with Shake, Giggle and Wiggle; swashbuckling adventures with Pirates of Old Crealy Town; record breaking attempts with Crealy Amazing and interactive nursery rhymes with Buddy and Blossom’s Sing-a-Long.

Guests can save up to 20% when purchasing tickets in advance online. Guests can validate their tickets, during their first visit, and then return to the adventure park free of charge for the next consecutive six days. For more information and to book tickets, visit www.crealy.co.uk.
