Funding boost for Sound Gallery CIC
Exeter-based social enterprise Sound Gallery CIC, is pleased to announce that their application to the Devon Community Foundation has been successful and have been awarded £2,000 from The Wace Family Trust.
Their project will be aimed at providing personal development and employability training for 20 young people at risk of social isolation based in East Devon and Exeter, giving them an insight into careers in the music industry, helping to raise aspirations and open a new world of opportunity.
Sound Gallery will offer work-based training opportunities and will aim to increase skills and knowledge, reduce isolation and increase confidence.
Sound Gallery CIC is a social enterprise which runs a professional recording studio based at Exeter Phoenix in the cultural heart of the city. Our social objectives are to to provide educational programmes and music-making activities for young people (15-24 years) who are at risk of social exclusion. We aim to build up confidence, improve social skills, teach transferrable skills and increase employability, resilience and young people’s opportunities to reach their full potential in life. Our commercial activities include audio digital recording services for musicians, producers, solo artists and songwriters, record labels, advertising agencies, TV, film, radio, rehearsal spaces, artist development, music technology courses, work experience programmes (SiMPTI) for 14-18 year olds, music industry events and live music showcases as part of The Analogue to Digital Music Expo.
