A workplace choir from a leading local law firm has performed its first concert to a packed audience of colleagues, family and clients.

The Rolling Scowns – a 24 piece choir from law firm Stephens Scown LLP in Exeter – performed a selection of 11 songs at a concert held at St Stephens Church, Exeter. The Rolling Scowns’s repertoire included “Let it Be”, “Black Horse and Cherry Tree” and “Merry Christmas Everyone”. The evening also saw a performance by established local choir, Bel Canto.

Stephens Scown’s choir was formed following the firm’s away day this year, where staff enjoyed a fun singing session as part of a team building exercise. The group, which has only been together for 10 weeks and practices during the lunch hour, is made up of solicitors, support staff, trainees and partners.

Commenting on the success of the choir, Stephens Scown’s managing partner and choir member, Robert Camp, said: “The choir has been a great success, bringing colleagues together from across the business. It has fostered a fantastic team spirit, and we all look forward to our weekly practice sessions. We were delighted that our first performance was such a success, and look forward to many more!”

Building on the success of its Exeter choir, Stephens Scown will establish a choir in its Cornish offices in Truro and St Austell in the New Year.

Stephens Scown has over 40 partners and 260 staff across its offices in Exeter, Truro and St Austell. For more information visit www.stephens-scown.co.uk
