Princesshay has announced a free community event to celebrate summer in the city. The ‘HAY Summer’s Here’ event on Thursday 26th July will feature spectacular street entertainment, live music, a face painter, creative workshops and food samples from the restaurants.

The event, which runs from 11am – 4pm, will see three very different exciting street performances roam around Princesshay Square, and free creative workshops for families.

Comedy Waiters will be entertaining visitors to Princesshay with their hilarious slap stick comedy, evoking the genius of Morecombe and Wise. Watch out for the surreal giant lobster as it emerges through the shopping centre and grab a photo with the roaming Kitch Kafe.

Children and adults of all ages can join in the fun with free Makendoo painting and making workshops, creating masks, hats and puppets. All materials are provided for visitors to turn up and get fully involved with hands-on fun for the whole family.

Adam in the Hat has put together a great line up of acts to perform live music throughout the day for visitors to enjoy whilst dining al fresco in Princesshay Square. Take a seat on the deck chairs on the lawn, and enjoy gardens games in the sunshine.

Princesshay’s Hannah Overton said: “We wanted to offer residents of Exeter and visitors to the city centre a family day out to kick-start the summer holidays. Our HAY Summer’s Here event is designed to bring the whole community together, and to help raise funds for our charity of the year, FORCE Cancer Charity.”

The HAY Summer’s Here event runs from 11am - 4pm on Thursday 26th July in Princesshay, Exeter.
