Theatre announces new season and new look
The Bike Shed Theatre has launched a new website, a newsletter, a trailer and a whole new look.
With more behind-the-scenes information, interviews with artists and specialist cocktail recipes, the subterranean venue offers an an enticing glimpse inside for anyone who’s curious.
A new season of work kicks off with a festival of the finest Devon-based theatre companies. From Devon with Love is a celebration of fresh new work from homegrown voices, taking place this January. Hot on its heels, The Laugh Out Loud festival brings acclaimed comedians to Exeter, including The Guardian’s comedy show of 2015, Kieran Hodgson’s Lance.
Daniel Bye returns with Tiny Heroes, commissioned and developed with The Bike Shed Theatre and Beaford Arts, celebrating the unsung heroes of Devon. Adam Blake’s Birth and Death and Here and Now, which begun life in The Unit, an empty shop in Exeter returns to the city whilst Write By Numbers, Pentabus, Jamie Wood and The Wardrobe Ensemble all return with new shows exploring themes ranging from gentrification and fracking to the history of sex and Yoko Ono.
The Bike Shed Theatre has also announced new shows with the Actors Touring Company, Fuel Theatre and Luca Rutherford, continuing to bring work by some of the most exciting companies from around the country to the South West.
Tickets are £10 or £8 at concession rate or just £5 for some Tuesday performances.
