BoyleSports have had to suspend betting on One Direction’s first member to leave the band following a flurry of bets on Zayn Malik.

The 22 year old singer is returning home despite having three dates in Asia scheduled for this week. “Zayn has signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate,” said the group’s spokesperson.

“The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”

Zayn was installed at 6/4 on Thursday and following support through all channels overnight and on Friday morning, BoyleSports had to suspend betting on him leaving the band.

With speculation over his relationship with Little Mix singer, Perrie Edwards, BoyleSports is offering 5/4 that the couple will call off their engagement before the end of 2015 whilst its 2/1 that the young couple will go their separate ways before the end of 2015.

With Zayn now back in the UK, the question has to be asked whether One Direction will continue their On The Road Again World Tour. Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker is offering 4/1 that all of One Direction’s European tour dates will be cancelled this year.

Liam Glynn, PR Executive at BoyleSports said “Things aren’t looking good for Zayn Malik at the moment and judging by the support for him to leave One Direction in the past 24 hours, the world’s biggest boyband may only have four members sooner rather than later.”

He added “We initially installed Zayn at 6/4 to be the first to leave the band but punters have been Up All Night and after laying some hefty bets at 6/4 and 4/5, our traders have had no choice but to suspend the market as One Way Or Another we now stand to lose a five figure amount if Zayn leaves the band forever.”
