Bike Shed Theatre announces Christmas show
This Christmas, families can embark on a thrilling adventure around 1940’s Exeter with Eloise and the Curse of the Golden Whisk.
Set in the bombed ruins of an Exeter restaurant, the story follows a daring young girl who discovers a magical golden whisk and unleashes its ancient curse. As she scurries into the underworld in an attempt to find a cure, Eloise undertakes extraordinary feats whilst being chased by a rabble of gold-hungry gangsters. Served up with lashings of laughs and scrumptious live music, Eloise and the Curse of the Golden Whisk is also a touching story about hope, friendship and stepping up to the plate.
Following the huge success of Eliza and the Wild Swans and Edgar and The Land of the Lost, Eloise and The Curse of the Golden Whisk is the last in a Christmas trilogy, co-produced by Exeter’s The Bike Shed Theatre and Bristol’s The Wardrobe Ensemble. Audiences have been delighted by the inventive use of props, the beautiful songs accompanied by a range of instruments and the sense of a big adventure being told in the atmospheric setting of The Bike Shed Theatre.
Describing the shows as ‘modern classics’ Charlie Parker, Executive Producer at The Bike Shed, explains ‘there are so many wonderful pantomimes and classic productions to choose from at Christmas. What we like to do is create a brand new story, told beautifully and in style that makes the most of the intimacy of our theatre. We want the audience to truly feel like they’re part of the world on stage.’
The show is suitable for anyone age 7 and up and tickets bought before 31 August are just £5.
The show opens on 8 Dec 2015 and closes on 9 Jan 2016.
