DISNEY ON ICE… 100 years of magic
From the moment those iconic ears of Mickey and Minnie Mouse entered the Westpoint Arena we were all captivated... writes Elle Perrett-Thomas.
I relived childhood memories seeing the show through the eyes of my six-year-old daughter, who was sitting beside me with huge anticipation and excitement along with her friend and mummy who were equally as thrilled.
We watched as years of un-paralleled storytelling unfolded on the ice.
From Donald Duck and Goofy to Finding Nemo and Toy Story there was a real mix of modern and classic Disney tales, all beautifully told and choreographed.
The scenery and costumes made every child and adult's favourite character come to life.
Everyone watching will have their own favourite part of the show but, undoubtedly, for us four it was Frozen.
Who doesn't love cuddly snowman Olaf who just wants warm hugs or a story where true love conquers all?
Even hearing Let It Go for the one-thousandth time didn't distract from the magic being performed in front of us.
We may have even had a little sing-along (shhhh), so Frozen really did melt our hearts.
I could not fault the show in the slightest. Disney certainly know how to entertain and if there is a show near you I'd highly recommend going along.
Despite some pestering we ignored the pricey popcorn and merchandise stalls, instead choosing to hold the magic in a more traditional way.
I think Mickey would agree!
