Exeter Band win competition to perform at major festival
Walkabout teamed up with the Isle of Wight Festival to run a Road to The Isle of Wight Festival Competition for musicians of all types to win a slot on this year’s Isle of Wight Festival which began on 12th June and ends today. The Isle of Wight Festival competition is supported by Jack Daniels, with the winner not only geting a slot at the Isle of Wight Festival but also receiving £500 expenses and lots of Jack Daniels goodies including a limited edition Jack Daniels Guitar!
The Grand Final of the Isle of Wight Festival Competition was held at Temple Walkabout on Sunday 8th June. The final was made up of acts that had won previous heats at the Walkabout venues across the UK.
Judging the Grand Final were Jess Beckham a representative from Walkabout, director of Future Music Chris Grayston, Mike Picketts from Listed Music, showbiz reporter and Capital FM producer Jon Hornbuckle and singing teacher and vocal coach Mike Freeman.
The act that was crowed winner of the Isle of Wight Festival and who won a slot at the Isle of Wight Festival as well as in £500 expenses and lots of Jack Daniels goodies including limited edition Jack Daniels Guitars was: The Tuesday Syndicate, who won the 'Exeter Heat' stage of the competition.
