Exeter-based Witterquick reveal new single

Exeter-based rock newcomers Witterquick are pleased to reveal their brand new single ‘Rise’, the latest track to be taken from their debut EP ‘Beneath The Spinning Lights’ released via LAB Records on 17th June, available to preorder on iTunes now.

Fans can also be in with a chance of winning a Playstation 4 or Xbox One gaming console simply by preordering the new record.

The band will be playing a very special EP launch show in their hometown on 19th June at Exeter Phoenix to celebrate the release of the record, with special guests to be confirmed.

The stream of the new song comes following a special BBC Introducing curated gig hosted by R1’s Huw Stephens and local BBC Introducing presenter James Santer, which featured an evening of live music at Exeter Phoenix with Muncie Girls, Tourists and Witterquick performing as part of BBC Radio 1’s #R1Academy project.

Their debut EP ‘Beneath the Spinning Lights’ was recorded with Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Twin Atlantic, Lower Than Atlantis), with appearances at Camden Rocks and Anchored To The Sound Festival already lined up for summer.

“We want something real. We want something that means something” says front man Will Alford about the band’s aims, “A lot of music today is lacking that…‘thing’, that little spark, that pulls us into the music we love. We want every song we write to be our favourite song, and so far we’re nailing it.”

Following the release of their well-received debut ‘The Otherside’ in 2015 they recorded their debut 5-track EP with world renowned producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Twin Atlantic, Lower Than Atlantis) at his studio in Cardiff. Bass player Ollie says that working with Romesh was a huge step for them, and they didn’t take it lightly, “We got a call back from Romesh saying that he’d love to work with us, that was one of the first moments when we thought ok…this is getting serious.”

With support for Witterquick already rolling in from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Kerrang! Radio, BBC Introducing in Devon, Punktastic, Kerrang! Magazine and many more, the band have already set about cementing themselves as ones to watch on the national rock scene in 2016.
