Exhibition of abstract paintings in Devon this September
Abstract paintings are the focus of a new exhibition at a Devon gallery this September.
Distraction featuring works by local artists Sandra Lissenden, Roger Lissenden and Chantal Ashwell runs from September 3 to September 22 at Artizan Gallery in Lucius Street in Torquay. There will be an Artist Preview from 6pm to 8pm on September 7.
“Their diverse styles span sculptural wildlife studies, elemental abstractions and impressionist landscapes, but are nonetheless inherently complimentary through their handling of natural forms and forces,” says Julie Brandon from Artizan Gallery.
From September 8 to September 23 the gallery is also hosting an exhibition by local artists and ceramicist as part of Devon Open Studios.
“Devon Open Studios is perhaps the number one event for South Devon art lovers every year, showcasing an exceptional range of talented artists who open up their studios for a few short weeks for us to explore and enjoy,” says Julie. “Collectors travel from across the country, with many returning year on year to explore this exceptional studio trail, featuring in excess of 200 artists across Dartmoor, Teignbridge, Torbay and the South Hams.”
