Hollywood star heads to Exeter for a one-night-only appearance
Fresh from releasing a brand new album, a major Hollywood star is heading to Exeter for a one-night-only concert at Exeter Phoenix this summer.
He is best known for his roles in movies like Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, A Few Good Men, as well as the TV series 24 and Designated Survivor, but what you might not know is that Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland is also a talented and critically acclaimed musician. His latest album, Reckless And Me, spans country music, Americana, folk, rock, blues and a whole lot more.
Speaking about the new album, Kiefer Sutherland explains, 'As an actor I know that making a connection with an audience always comes by virtue of the story or the character. This is very different. They’re personal stories from my life. As lucky as I am, there are things you can’t avoid: friends of yours are going to die, you’re going to be let down, your heart will be broken. Hopefully they help both me and the audience to realise that none of us are alone in trying to get these things in life. And there’s something comforting about that. At least to me.’
Exeter Phoenix are not known for doing things by halves, and the city-centre arts venue will be making the most of their cinema when the Hollywood star comes to visit. The week will also see a mini festival of Kiefer Sutherland’s best-loved films land in Studio 74, the venue’s independent cinema.
The star will be taking to the stage at Exeter Phoenix on Friday 2nd August for a one-night-only evening of music. Tickets cost £28.50 and can be purchased on Exeter Phoenix’s website (www.exeterphoenix.org.uk/events/kiefer-sutherland) or by phoning the venue’s box office on 01392 667080.
