From the delightful storybook of The Makeshift Ensemble comes a new adventure through the deep blue. Discover the ancient song of the Sea Turtles as they guide us through shipwrecks and sea shells, to sing their song anew when the future of their underwater world is in peril from plastics and beasts of the deep!

A tale to enchant listeners young and old, 'I am Turtle' is an enthralling delve into the great oceans to hear Turtle’s story and what we can do to take care of their home.

Join The Makeshift Ensemble at Exeter Phoenix as part of the Exeter Fringe at 2pm, 26thJuly and 11am on 27thJuly, for a magical and memorable dive into the deep blue to swim with giant Sea Turtles and learn all about looking after their home.

The Makeshift Ensemble, who tour their celebrated shows for all ages across the UK, promise a flotilla of Sea Turtle puppets, wonderful live music , a beautiful story and an important message about plastic use and what we can all do to take care of the oceans.

Creative Director Jacqueline Avery says, “Come along and let us immerse you in some fabulous storytelling theatre, you can meet Great Uncle Archie and Pocket, our two Sea Turtle Puppets and learn all about how to look after their home. We thoroughly look forward to performing at The Shoebox and hope to see you there too!”

The MakeShift Ensemble has been gaining more and more recognition for it’s hugely engaging work since the company formed in late 2015, being invited to perform all over the country and enjoying a residency at Eden Project, Cornwall last summer.
