Local filmmaker is Seeing Red
Newton Abbot writer/director, Luke Jeffery, 22, has been commissioned to make his film Seeing Red by Exeter Phoenix as part of their Devon Short Film Commission scheme, and is currently auditioning actors and crew.
Set in the 1960s, the surreal comedy is about a straight-laced wedding photographer who is prescribed LSD in a misguided attempt to cure his colour blindness, and will be filmed in and around Exeter and Newton Abbot. The film willpremiere at the Exeter Phoenix’s Two Short Nights film festival on December 12th.
Playing the role of photographer Drake Dalton is experienced local actor, Charlie Coldfield. The original score will be written by Exeter-based musician, The Dalwood Rocket, and photographs which feature in the film are to be provided by award-winning photographer Benjamin Borley.
‘Setting a film in the 1960s is tricky, but we’re confident that our team is up to the challenge,’ says Luke Jeffery. ‘The biggest test will be making sure there aren’t any mobile phones or digital watches in shot!’
