Celebrating its 10th anniversary, The Magic of Motown Reach Out 2016 tour is coming to Devon!

Music fans are invited to join the party as hit touring concert show the Magic of Motown celebrates its 10th birthday with a tour of the UK and Ireland.

Set to thrill its millionth music fan this year, the production’s 2016 show honours the 50th anniversary of the Four Tops’ chart-topping single Reach Out, I’ll Be There with its all-new REACH OUT® Tour.

In 1966 The Four Tops’ signature tune was a No1 hit both sides of the Atlantic, says Magic of Motown’s UK-based producer Michael Taylor.

“The song Reach Out enjoys the distinction of being acclaimed as this stunning production’s stand-out performance,” he says.

“Magic of Motown has spent the past decade continuing the legend of solid-gold artistes like the Supremes, Temptations, Jackson 5, Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie and more.”
Michael says that the production oozes the style, sophistication and musical brilliance of these legendary artists. “Thirty-six classic songs are revived,” he says, “amid a flurry of glittering costume changes and starring all the dazzling dance moves and superb musicianship of the original artistes.”

Magic of Motown has racked up more than 1,500 performances over 10 years. From Inverness to Jersey and all points in between, it has played to packed houses at the majority of Britain’s biggest theatres and concert halls. And it’s reputation has spread overseas with tours of the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic, France, Ireland and Algeria to its credit.

With its American born-and-bred male lead, Andre Lejaune, the Magic of Motown promises five-star performances that will authentically revive the style and sophistication of everyone’s favourite musical legends.

The performers, especially put together for the 2016 tour, are backed by the long-established Magic of Motown band who, according to Michael, create the elusive, authentic Motown sound.

“In the capable hands of the cast and the musicians,” says Michael, “you can guarantee that the score will be – with a nod to the great Stevie Wonder – uptight. . . alright and out of sight!”

“And this year we’re proud to announce that the show will include more number one hits than ever before.

“Come and celebrate Magic of Motown’s 10th anniversary and 50 years of number one hits.”

About The Magic of Motown

The Magic of Motown revives all-time favourites like: Stop in the Name of Love; Dancing in the Street; My Guy; Ain’t No Mountain High Enough; This Old Heart of Mine; I Heard it Through the Grapevine; Endless Love; All Night Long; Heatwave; I’m Coming Out; Why Do Fools Fall in Love; Get Ready; Ain’t Too Proud to Beg; My Girl; I Want You Back; I’ll Be There; Uptight (Everything’s Alright); How Sweet it Is and of course Baby Love.

“Sixties classics give way to present-day masterpieces from Lionel Richie and Diana Ross,” says show producer Michael Taylor.

“Sadly, many of the original singing legends are either no longer with us or no longer touring. The Magic of Motown is the nearest you’ll get to authentically capturing their incredible musical legacy in a live show.

“Our young cast is able to reflect the exuberance and excitement of these songs as they were originally performed.”
Equal care is taken to reproduce the original look of the stars on stage. It was not just the music that set them apart from all other hit singers of the time. For mass market appeal, artistes’ images were carefully controlled from dress and choreography, right down to their manners.

Michael says: “Thus we’ve employed the services of  top costume designer Claire Davis to create a fabulous selection of colourful costumes for the cast while leading man Andre Lejaune is responsible for choreographing the cast to perform the intricate dance moves for which Motown stars were famous.”

With the production presenting so many shows this coming year, Michael says there will be “nowhere to run, nowhere to hide” to keep you away from the Magic of Motown in 2015.
