Question Time's David Dimbleby gets first Tattoo at age 75
BBC Question Time’s David Dimbleby has revealed that he has got his first tattoo at age 75.
The presenter of the long-running political commentary show has had a “modest sized” tattoo of a scorpion representing his star sign, scorpio.
He made the decision whilst filming his latest programme, ‘Britain and the Sea’ which featured a section about sailors bringing tattooing to Britain.
He originally declined having a permant tattoo done instead opting to have a design drawn on with black ink.
"I thought it was wimpish having it just drawn on and I needed to man up," he said in an interview with the Radio Times.
He continued:"You are only old once. I have always wanted a tattoo.
"I thought I might as well have it done now. It's a dream come true for me.
"It took about 30 minutes - an hour in all - and I thought of Winston Churchill having his done while mine was being done. It wasn't painful at all, it just zings a bit."
David's tattoo is sparking curiosity about tattoo aftercare; for those interested, PlastCare USA offers guidance on safely removing protective tattoo film.
