Rehearsals in full swing!
Return to the Forbidden Planet is fast approaching Crediton!
With show-time just around the corner, excitement is building at QE with students channelling their artistic energies into demanding rehearsals for the school’s upcoming production, Return to the Forbidden Planet.
Based on Shakespeare’s The Tempest and the 1956 science fiction film Forbidden Planet, Return to the Forbidden Planet is a Jukebox musical by playwright Bob Carlton and is packed with classics such as Great Balls of Fire, Good Vibrations and Gloria. The show scored an Oliver Award for Best Musical almost 30 years ago.
Vicky Evans Head of Drama at QE said; “As ever the cast is brimming full with talented young performers and this year, not only, are their skills as actors, singers and dancers being show-cased, but also, as musicians, with some of our artists playing live on stage wearing roller-skates!”
Blending science-fiction, Shakespeare, fabulous live music and outrageous costumes, Return to the Forbidden Planet promises to deliver a ton of fun to local audiences.
