Stunning bird photography to be displayed at Seaton Wetlands

Weekend visitors to East Devon District Council’s Seaton Wetlands will be treated to beautiful photography of birds in Devon taken by members of the Devon Birds Group.

The exhibition, which is on display until Sunday 10 June, will be displayed in the Reed Base at Seaton Wetlands and will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no charge to view the exhibition but donations can be left.

Cllr Tom Wright, East Devon District Council's portfolio holder for the environment, said: ‘’Throughout the year Seaton Wetlands is home to a range of birds including some nationally rare waders. The photographs captured by the Devon Birds Society are spectacular and give visitors to Seaton Wetlands the chance to see a variety of birds up close in one visit!’’

James Chubb, Countryside team leader (Sites): “Devon Birds is a brilliant county birding society and their membership have curated an exceptional exhibition of bird photography from Devon which will be amazing for visitors to Seaton Wetlands to view. While visitors to the wetlands might be hoping to see a water rail or kingfisher, these illusive birds are not always easy to spot and so these crisp photographs give a fabulous glimpse into their world.”

The Discovery Hut at Seaton Wetlands will also be open to the public from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays, so visitors can learn more about the birds they see photographed. From the Discovery Hut visitors also have the chance to watch the kestrel sitting on her eggs from the live kestrel cam.
