EVENTS

Armed Forces Day
Saturday, 11am, Exeter City Centre
The Lord Mayor of Exeter and the Lord Lieutenant of Devon will be "raising the flag" at Exeter Guildhall at 11am to show support for the country's military community, retired and serving, at home and abroad including the cadet forces. The ceremony will mark the start of a grand parade through the city by representatives from all the armed forces accompanied by the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, The Band of 6 Rifles, and The Corps of Drums from the Devon Army Cadet Force.  From noon there will be a free programme of military music and displays on the Cathedral Green culminating in the spectacular 'Beating Retreat'.

St Nicholas Catholic Primary School June Fayre
Saturday, noon, St Nicholas Catholic Primary School, Ringswell Avenue, Exeter
St Nicholas Catholic Primary School's fayre takes place between noon and 2.30pm. Entertainment includes a bouncy castle, face painting, stalls, cupcake decorating, ice-cream, barbecue, toys, drinks and much more.

St Leonard's CofE Primary School Summer Fayre
Saturday, 12-3pm, St Leonard's Primary School, St Leonard's Rd, Exeter
St Leonard's Primary School's fayre takes place between 12pm and 3pm. Entertainment includes a silent auction, BBQ, an international food stall, once-loved children's clothes stall, cake stall, raffle and much more.

Crikey Vintage Weekend

Produced by the Crikey It's Vintage retail consortium of local traders, the event features 60 traders, vintage fashion shows, live music, singing and dancing; pop up beauty parlour and retro photo booth, make do and mend worshops, vintage wedding emporium, free workshops for children and entrance to Objects of Desire exhibition.  The fabulous Lola Lamour and her Blue Light Boys will provide the enteratinment on Saturday evening. Fire Engine and Vintage Vehicle Rally

This year's Fire engine and Vintage Vehicle Rally is being held at Nutwell Court Estate, Lympstone on 23 June 2013.  The Rally will raise funds for the Firefighters Charity and will take place from 10am-5pm.  This will be a great family day out with children's rides, face painting and bouncy castle.

Gallery 21 Exhibition: Wasted
RAMM, Queen Street, Exeter
This exhibition explores the life-giving potential of ‘discarded’ body parts and their relationship to myths, history, cutting edge stem cell research and notions of what constitutes informed consent. The art works are sculptural, incorporating milk teeth donated by children and bones and fat from living, consenting donors. This fashion exhibition has some of the most luxurious vintage fashion and accessories from the 20th century and highlight the ultimate in designer and couture clothes. Catrin Webster: Live Abstractions

The works collected in this exhibition are the outcome of artist Catrin Webster’s Leverhulme Trust-funded residency in the Department of Geography at the University of Exeter, 2012-13.  Open Monday to Friday, 8.30pm-5.30pm, the exhibition runs until 9 July.
