A new Harry Potter infographic has been designed to take fans on a whistle-stop tour of the film production timeline and key events leading up to the launch of the Studio Tour.

There’ll be no more arguing about which came first, The Chamber of Secrets or The Goblet of Fire, and say goodbye to confusion over which year your favourite Harry Potter film was released. The infographic lists all the pivotal movie dates plus the sequence of events that led to the creation of Warner Bros. Studio Tour itself.

Tickets for the Tour were released in 2011, with the grand opening taking place in 2012 at the Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios themselves. Since launching, the Tour has proved incredibly popular, with the 10 millionth visitor arriving in 2018.

The story of the studio site takes us all the way back to 1939, when the land that would become Warner Bros. Studio Tour was used by the military to build aircraft. Jump forward 55 years to 1994 and the production team with James Bond leased the land for GoldenEye, converting the aircraft hangers into film sets.

It was in 2000 that Heyday Films acquired the site on behalf of Warner Bros. to produce the first film in a series that would take over the world – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The Noughties bought year-after-year updates to the world of Harry Potter, with the sets evolving over time as the story developed. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was released in 2011, with Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter opening its doors to the public the following year.

Suddenly, fans of both the books and the films (and even some non-fans) could enter the world of Harry Potter, exploring behind the scenes of their favorite sets. Butterbeer flowed, broomsticks were flown, and guests could even leave with their very own wands.

The Studio Tour received Royal approval one year later, with HRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry attending the site’s inauguration on 26 April 2013, in addition to the series’ author, JK Rowling.
