The X-Factor comes to Exeter
The UK’s favourite singing show, The X Factor, is back and on the lookout for the next big breakout music stars with the audition team back on the road, scouring the country for budding hopefuls to take part in series 16 of the hit music show.
The audition tour will be a nationwide search and is coming to the Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter on Saturday 2 February. Auditions take place between 9am and 6pm and it couldn’t be simpler to apply.
Groups or solo singers aged 16+ can apply online, registering for an upcoming event or turn up in person on the day. Everyone who turns up will be guaranteed an audition.
If that wasn’t easy enough, you can also audition with just your mobile phone! Send your audition message, featuring a video of you, a friend, family member or a vocal star you know,singing to The X Factor’s WhatsApp number (07733 222 927) or send the video in via the website.

If acts impress the X Factor audition team with their vocals they will then be in with a chance of auditioning in front of the X Factor judges when the judges’ auditions take place later inthe year.
The auditions are open to all genres and types of singers, including those performing their own original material. So if you think you are the next Dalton Harris, Rak-Su, One Direction or Little Mix and think you have what it takes to be chosen to be on the next series of The X Factor, make sure you apply to audition.
Artists discovered by The X Factor UK have sold more than 500 million records worldwide making it the most successful show in history for finding chart superstars.
Winners include Little Mix, the first girl group to win the competition, who have sold morethan 45 million records worldwide. The group’s triple-platinum selling album Glory Daysspent five weeks at No.1 in the UK, the most for a girl group since the Spice Girls in 1997.
James Arthur’s No.1 single Say You Won’t Let Go has gone multi-platinum in both the US and UK, selling more than 11m units worldwide to date.
Grammy nominee Leona Lewis’ debut single Bleeding Love was No.1 for seven consecutiveweeks and became the world’s biggest selling single of 2007.
And not forgetting the biggest pop group in the world, One Direction, who have sold more than 150 million records worldwide and won seven BRIT awards. They were also the biggest selling UK act globally for three consecutive years (2012, 2013 and 2014) and additionally in 2013 they were also the biggest selling act in the world.
Dalton Harris’ X Factor winner’s single with James Arthur, The Power of Love, went straight to No1 on iTunes and debuted at No1 Official Vodafone Big Top 40. The track charted at No4 on the Official UK Chart, the highest charting new entry the week of release.
