The Beanfield
Friday & Saturday, Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter
"It’s a very sore subject around here. There are raw wounds.” It’s been 30 years since the Battle of the Beanfield – a brutal crackdown on the annual Stonehenge Free Festival. Called away from policing the miners’ strike, officers enforced an injunction around the ancient stones with bloody violence and mass arrests. Armed with a camera, a map and home-made riot gear, Breach set out to mark the anniversary with a historical re-enactment. Exeter Pride 2016

Exeter Pride returns for its 8th year and this year will be bigger and brighter than ever before!  The parade starts at noon from St Sidwell’s Centre, Sidwell Street and will feature favourites and new acts for this year.  Gather from 11.30am at St Sidwell’s Centre to be a part of it. Events at Exeter Phoenix begin at 1pm and go on until the early hours of the morning. RSPB family friendly nature walk

Inside Outside Craft Market

Lots and lots of lovely arts abd crafts, all hand made by local makers. Enjoy the serendipity of our beautiful and historic quayside.  Have a stroll along the riverside and watch the swans and boats drifting by. There will also be face painting and children's activities, wool weaving and spinning demonstrations and live music by two of Exeter's best street musicians - Karl Zumar and Ryn.

Sandy Park Wedding Fair

Between 10.30am and 3pm the Exeter Suite will be showcasing an extensive range of local wedding suppliers. Sandy Park's Chiefs Suite will also be set up for a Civil Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast to display our facilities as a wedding venue.  Entry is free for all guests with a complimentary glass of bubbly, canapes and goody bag on arrival.

EXHIBITIONS

Posters from the Past Masters
From Sunday, Brook Gallery, Exeter
Many of the world's leading artists have enjoyed making posters for their exhibitions. These often took the form of original lithographs, printed by some of the great Parisian ateliers. The poster, by nature, is ephemeral and mint copies are rare so Brook Gallery are delighted to exhibit a selection of these striking prints. Devon Art Society Spring Exhibition
St Annes Hall, Babbacombe Road, Babbaombe, Torquay
Hundreds of original paintings will go on display at the Devon Art Society´s spring exhibition. There are classical themes covering floral, still-life, figurative and landscape as well as seascape subject matters and some abstracts too.  Visitors are welcome to talk with the artists to share their impressions as many of the artists will be present throughout the exhibition. Open daily 10am - 6pm, until 15 May. Admission free.

Definitely Devon

A creative journey from Devon to Australia and back again! Painting the sunny beaches of Perth, Western Australia, or the changeable scenery of Devon? For Devon Artist Network painter Julie Dunster, there is no contest - and she is celebrating her return home with her first solo art exhibition in this country, at the Boston Tea Party in Honiton until 7 May.
