Into the Woods

When a baker and his wife learn they have been cursed with childlessness by a witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell. They swindle Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk), accost Cinderella and steal from Little Red Riding-Hood and Rapunzel. Along the way they meet an evil wolf, charming princes and wicked in-laws. But by the end of Act 1 everyone’s wishes have come true (well almost everyone’s!). But little do they know that the fulfilment of their dreams would have consequences. Their happy lives begin to unravel as their actions bring destruction and danger to the kingdom. An evening of music celebrating the sea

‘The Seafarer’ by Andrew Millington will be performed by The Exeter Philharmonic Choir in a special, sea-themed concert.  The concert commences with Mendelssohn’s ‘Overture, Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage’ and concludes with a rare opportunity to hear ‘A Sea Symphony’ by Vaughan Williams. For this performance, the choir welcomes back local soloists Julian Rippon and Catherine Hamilton, and the Sinfonietta, a full symphony orchestra led by Richard Studt. The Four Owls

Exeter Record Fair

A host vinyl and CD dealers, all with masses of good quality vinyl records, CDs and much more to choose from. Doors open at 9.30am, entry is £1. RSPB Family Friendly Nature Walk
Saturday, 2pm, RSPB Shop, Darts Farm, Topsham, Exeter
Family friendly walks which showcase the beautiful surrounding farmland and wetlands - a great chance to get out and see some wildlife. See a range of farmland birds, as well as dazzling kingfishers, reed buntings and birds of prey such s buzzards and sparrowhawks. The views across to Goosemoor reserve are stunning and the RSPB’s resident expert will be alongside to answer questions and point things out. 2pm-3pm, Saturdays only (binoculars available for hire). EXHIBITIONS

Via Crucis Art Exhibition
Exeter Cathedral
Via Crucis is a touring exhibition, made up of 14 new images for the Stations of the Cross. The images are on paper and use mixed media, which includes charcoal, metal leaf, ink and pastel. They are the work of Caroline Waterlow, a multi-disciplinary artist based in the Westcountry.  Where the traditional Stations emphasise the suffering path of Jesus, these new images follow the gospel accounts of Christ's Passion.  The exhibition runs until 29 March. http://www.exeter-cathedral.org.uk/

Women and Peace – an Exhibition

Fashion to Dye For

Killerton's latest exhibition 'Fashion to dye for' invites e people into the wardrobe to discover how colours, dyes and design shaped fashion history. From a 50's red silk gown (said to have belonged to Princess Margaret), to a 70's blue denim jacket and flares and a young boys red dress - colour can reveal much about the wearer. The collection brings to life how colour can reveal much about the wearer and also looks into the origins, status and function of colour in fashion. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/killerton
