Free interactive children's pet workshops
Parents in Exeter are being given the opportunity to take their children to a series of fun, free pet workshops this summer, where they can interact with and learn more about a variety of scaled, finned and furry friends.
Both Pets at Home stores in Exeter are hosting a My Pet Pals Summer Activity Club, a series of free interactive pet workshops which will educate the next generation of pet owners on how to care for animals responsibly.
The workshops will cover the adventures of a gang of small furry animal characters and reptiles, who will illustrate how to look after pets, such as guinea pigs, hamsters, degus, fish and reptiles.
From finding out about the fascinating world of each pet, to learning how best to feed and clean them, children will also get the chance to interact with the animals in store.
Pets at Home team members, the majority of which are pet owners themselves, will be providing friendly expertise helping ensure kids learn everything they can while having fun.
Rydon Lane store manager, David Lidster, says: “We are very excited about welcoming children to My Pet Pals Summer Activity Club. It’s a great way for children to learn about the importance of responsible pet ownership, whilst having fun at the same time.
“And while some may not be able to own a pet, or may have never seen certain animals in real life, they can learn, feed and care for some for free in-store.”
After completing the workshops, each child will receive a certificate and stickers, along with a pet promise card where they make a pledge to look after any pet they have according to the five welfare needs, covering habitat, health, wellbeing, diet and behaviour.
The workshops are taking place every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at noon. To find out more details on the workshops, please contact your local store: http://www.petsathome.com/
