Summer Holiday Getaway

The school holidays are about to trigger the start of the busy summer getaway period for Exeter Airport and up to 25,000 passengers will be travelling through the terminal in the next seven days.

The week will see 12,500 passengers using the airport on variety of routes from the Isles of Scilly to as far away as Sharm el Sheikh.

South West flights from Exeter to St. Marys have increased to five a day and over the summer 11,000 passengers will use the service.

Popular bus service extended to operate seven days a week

Devon County Council is funding improved services for a cross-city bus route which links Exminster to Exeter.

Bus Service B, operated under contract to the County Council by Stagecoach, was extended earlier this year to provide a six days a week, all day connection between Exminster, Matford Business Park, Marsh Barton, the city centre, Pinhoe and Exeter Business Park.

AventHolidays, founded by Woodbury-based Jeremy Jackson, launched the first of their Italian painting breaks in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City of Ferrara, Italy. Exeter artist Rebecca de Mendonca, tutored the pastel painting course to a seven-strong group, which included BBC Radio Devon presenter Judi Spiers and Exeter PR consultant Glen King.

Guests enjoyed wine and canapés at a special event held in their honour hosted by Brother and Sister Marco and Melia in the private courtyard of their home.
