Become a motorbiking Santa!
Forget the reindeer – these Christmas toys will be delivered by motorcycle.
A festive motorbike cavalcade with a special difference will take place just a couple of weeks before Christmas this year – and YOU could be part of it. The riders will be delivering Christmas toys to youngsters with life-limiting illnesses at the South West Children’s Hospice.
So why not arm yourself with a Santa suit, decorate your motorbike with some tinsel or antlers and join the Exeter Based Motorbike Rides group for a ride to remember?
This amazing festive ride will take place on Sunday 7 December, meeting at Exeter Junction 30 Moto Services by 11am. The trail of Santas on two wheels (or three for trikes!) will ride to Little Bridge House, Children's Hospice South West near Winkleigh. They have arranged to get there after lunch so that the children can come out and see all the motorbikes and meet the biking Santas.
You must book and pay for your place before Friday 28 November to make sure they've got refreshments available for the right number of people, and to give Exeter Based Motorcycle Rides time to buy the gifts for the children.
Places are £5 per person, with the majority of the money being used to buy Christmas toys that will be transported alongside the bikes to the hospice. The rest is being used as a donation to a cafe for a hot drink for everyone on the way there and food and a hot drink on the way back. The hospice will accept any extra donations you may want to give on the day.
Already signed up to take part are 63 bikers from Exeter and other places like Exmouth, Crediton, Torquay and Teignmouth. Why not join them for this great cause? The Exeter Based Motorcycle Rides Facebook page is not affiliated to or part of any group, patch or other motorbike club or organisation. Everyone is welcome no matter what type of motorbike or rider you are.

Carla O'Reilly, organiser of the Facebook page and the ride, said: "I set up the Facebook page as I am passionate about motorbiking and wanted to give riders somewhere where they could join up with like minded people and find out all about any rides from Exeter and even organise their own. I organised a ride to the same hospice with Easter eggs this year and the smiles on the children's faces were priceless! Please get your motorbikes out and join us for this worthy cause".
