Teign Valley Golf Club has chosen Exeter Dementia Action Alliance as its Charity of the Year for 2019.

Gina Awad, Lead of the Alliance said: “I was delighted to meet everyone and share our community work with Teign Valley Golf Club. We received a very warm welcome and very much look forward to collaborating with them."

The Exeter Dementia Action Alliance empowers and inspires organisations and businesses to raise awareness and deliver dementia-friendly services for people living with dementia and their families.

Jane Summers, Ladies Captain for 2019 at Teign Valley Golf Club said: “We were very keen to support a local group that we could meet and have a presence at the club. The Alliance was recommended and as we know any one of us could be affected by dementia. We look forward to supporting EDAA with our various days and events throughout 2019."

Funds raised will enable the alliance to continue encouraging membership through education and delivery of action plans, advice on good practice, and where appropriate connecting organisations together to share ideas.

The Alliance belives that Exeter should be a city in which every business and organisation respects and values people living with dementia and their care partners/families and enables people with dementia to live independently and empowered to participate in the community.
