Fashion show raises £1,250 for charity
Local charity Rainbow Living is delighted to have raised £1,250 following a second successful fashion show, run in conjunction with John Lewis.
Over 100 guests from across the community supported the fashion extravaganza, which took place at John Lewis’s Exeter store.
Volunteer models took to the catwalk on behalf of the charity, showcasing clothes from the new Men’s and Women’s Summer collections, and John Lewis experts were on hand with fashion and beauty tips and advice.
Rainbow Living is a volunteer-run charity which supports adults with disabilities by providing accommodation to enable tenants to live with their peers as independently as possible in supported living. There are two Rainbow Houses in Devon, in Exeter and Torquay, and the charity is currently fundraising for a third Rainbow House in the Exeter area. All of the money raised from the fashion show will go directly towards the total needed for the purchase of the third Rainbow House.
Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living said: “It was a wonderful evening and we are absolutely delighted with the support the fashion show received. We would like to extend our grateful thanks to all the partners at John Lewis Exeter who helped to organise the event, to everyone who came along on the night, and to all our volunteer models – everyone worked so hard and we are thrilled it was such a success.”
