Take a walk back to the 80s with Hospiscare Twilight Walk!
It’s the final countdown! Time is fast running out to enrol in the Eighties-themed Twilight Walk on Saturday 8th July.
Remember, this is an exclusively female event: on this occasion, sisters are doing it for themselves! Join up today and raise loadsamoney for Exeter’s well known and popular local charity Hospiscare, an organisation which itself started in the Eighties (in 1982, to be precise).
The Twilight Walk is a 5-mile or new 10-mile themed sponsored walk around Exmouth Seafront with entertainment provided all along the route. The walk starts from The Maer, Exmouth. You can register online or by phone until Wednesday 5th July 2017. Alternatively, you can sign up on the day in the event arena before the walk starts at 6.30pm - the entry fee will be £25.
Your entry fee will get you: a purple Twilight Walker’s t-shirt, some chocolate and a drink, entertainment and sweet treats throughout the route, and supper from Kenniford Farm, including a bacon bap or vegetarian alternative and hot drink.
Radio Exe will be presenting, and entertainment along the route will include Urban Flow Streetdance, the musician Simon Watton, the Rock Choir, the Hospiscare Choir and others.
Within the event arena there will be face-painting, a massage clinic, Purrfect Doggy Day Care and Latin In Line dancers. Big Bear Coffee and an ice cream van will also be there with refreshments before the walk gets underway.
The event is sponsored by Western Power Distribution. Support has also been received from Exmouth Journal, Radio Exe, Kenniford Farm and Tesco Salterton Road. Hospiscare sends out a big thank you to them all. So come on! A lovely jubbly £51k was raised last year and 872 ladies took part. This year we expect to do even better!
“We are very excited about the range of entertainments on offer at this year’s Twilight Walk,” said one Hospiscare fundraiser. “After last year’s triumph, 2017 promises to be the best Twilight Walk yet! I’d urge anyone thinking about it to sign up immediately.”
If you want to be part of the evening but are unable to walk, then why not volunteer to be a marshal? Please contact Sharon on 01392 688094 or email s.ewart@hospiscare.co.uk if you are interested.
Hospiscare is a local charity, providing free, high quality care and support to people with a progressive life-limiting illness, and those close to them, in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.
