Elysium Healthcare announces Title Partnership with Exeter’s Great West Run
Elysium Healthcare, a dynamic independent provider of Mental Health, Neurological, Learning Disabilities & Autism and Children & Education services, has announced its partnership with a major regional fundraising event.
The Elysium Healthcare Great West Run, formerly known as Exeter’s Great West Run, takes place on Sunday 22nd May 2022 and offers an exciting opportunity for runners of all ages and abilities with a half marathon, a 10K route or a 1-mile Community Mile race. The event takes participants on a journey through the city centre, along charming country lanes and takes in stunning views across Exeter before a fantastic finish at Exeter Arena Athletics Stadium.
The annual charity event provides a valuable source of income for a wide variety of local, regional and national charities. Each year, many of those taking part in this event raise thousands of pounds, and this figure is expected to rise in 2022.
As key sponsors of the Exeter Chiefs for the 2021/2022 season, Elysium Healthcare has strong links in the South West, with five healthcare service centres in the region including Spring House and Pinhoe View in Exeter (officially opened in 2021 by the Mayor). Other units are The Copse in Weston Super Mare, The Woodmill in Cullompton and Wellesley Hospital in Wellington.
Kim Hill, Elysium’s South West Operations Director, commented on the announcement “Fitness is an important part of life, which we encourage at Elysium for our staff and service users. We are always looking for ways to engage with local communities through our Community Outreach Programme and it seems a natural fit. Our Mission Fit internal programme is designed especially for our service users and plays a key role in maintaining mental health and fitness. Some of our staff and service users will also be taking part in the races.
“This partnership with the Great West Run provides the people of Exeter and the South West with an awareness of the rewarding career opportunities that come with working for Elysium in the healthcare sector where you can experience what delivering great healthcare should feel like.”
As title partners, Elysium will have a major presence in the Race Village and will be actively fundraising throughout the day, with raffle prizes including an Exeter Chiefs shirt and a rugby ball, both signed by the team. Members of the Elysium team will be official starters, firing the starting guns to set the runners on their way.
Rupert Martin, Event Organiser, acknowledged the partnership with Elysium, saying “We believe that running can help people in so many ways; improving both physical and mental health, bringing communities together and helping raise crucial funds for brilliant charities. We’re thrilled to have Elysium Healthcare and their fantastic team supporting the event and everyone taking part.”
