
Cheriton Fitzpaine welcomes French visitors
Cherition Fitzpaine Twinning Association welcomed 28 visitors from their twinned village of Bonnebosq in Normandy for an action-packed weekend.
The French visitors arrived last Friday and were given a warm welcome in Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall by chairman Geoff Yeandle.
On the Friday evening lively group meals hosted at various members’ homes.
On Saturday everyone went to Exmouth for a Stuart Line cruise along the River Exe, then dined at the Nutwell Lodge.
In the evening there was a grand party held in Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall and a delicious buffet supper. Music and dancing was led by the Hips an Haws, and a great time was had by all.
On Sunday, after family lunches, and in one case a visit to Exeter Quay, everyone met again at 4pm to say “au revoir” to their French friends, as they boarded the coach for their return to Bonnebosq.
