City Council expresses sympathy to relatives and friends of homeless woman killed by a falling tree

Exeter City Council has expressed its sympathy to relatives and friends of the woman killed by a falling tree at the weekend.

As reported by The Exeter Daily, a 21-year-old woman, who the police are hoping to official identify today, was killed on Saturday night when a tree fell on the tent that she was sleeping in Western Way, Exeter.

Councillor Rob Hannaford, Lead Councillor for Housing and Community Involvement, said: "This is a tragic death and our thoughts go out to everyone who knew this lady.

"The number of homeless people is unfortunately high in Exeter. The City Council works closely with its partner organisations to ensure that help is available to everybody faced with homelessness.
