The chief executive of Visit Cornwall is reported to have said that the A30 between Exeter and Bodmin should be renamed the Devon Bypass.

Malcolm Bell said when roadworks are completed near Bodmin drivers will have no need to stop in Devon.

"It will be the easiest drive in the country," Mr Bell said. "Turn onto the M5 and it's all the way down to Cornwall without the need to stop in Devon.

Mr Bell told BBC Radio Devon: "Devon is a beautiful county...it's just a shame you guys you have to come second to Cornwall."
