Princesshay has today announced that a new Costa Coffee will open in Debenhams on Wednesday (9 July).

Located on the first floor, directly above the main entrance, the new Costa Coffee will command views onto Princesshay Square and focus on sit down coffee, pastries and snacks rather than a take-away service.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director, says: “The partnership between Costa Coffee and Debenhams will supplement the existing in-store restaurant and café, providing customers with an alternative offering for a drink and snack while shopping.”

The second largest coffee shop operator in the world, Costa Coffee will complement Debenhams’ own restaurant on the 4th floor of the store which serves hot meals, traditional carvery roasts, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes and hot soups.

Marcus Harrison, Debenhams store manager, said:  “It’s exciting to be able to offer customers an additional café option within our store and shoppers will be familiar with the Costa service and environment. Our restaurant continues to trade well with seating for 80 and spectacular views of the Cathedral, providing shoppers with a more substantial dining option when visiting us.”

The Princesshay store is one of six Debenhams stores in the UK to open a Costa Coffee concession, the other sites are Guildford, Slough, Woking, Derby and Haverfordwest.
