East Devon District Council’s Countryside team is working with a number of partners to deliver some new wellbeing events this summer.

As well as favourites such as rock pooling and bug hunts, the Countryside team is offering outdoor classes in Tai Chi, editation and yoga at local beauty spots.

The first of these wellbeing events is an introduction to Tai Chi, which takes place on the Maer, in Exmouth, on Saturday 1 July from 9am to 10am. This course is repeated on Saturday 19 August at Seaton Wetlands.

An outdoor meditation session is being run at Seaton Wetlands on Sunday 2 July and Sunday 27 August and outdoor yoga at Seaton Wetlands on Wednesday 16 August.

Information and Events officer, Elle Taylor said: ‘’We’re really excited to be working with experienced local instructors, who have offered to take their classes outside. Each of these events is a great introduction, and also offers an al-fresco twist to those who are more experienced”

‘’We are surrounded by beautiful places, and unique events such as outdoor Tai Chi and yoga provide a special opportunity to enjoy the peacefulness of our natural environment.’’

Spaces for these courses are limited and must be booked in advance. To find out more, book a place or to browse other events run by the Countryside team visit: wildeastdevon.co.uk
