Visitors to Countrywide in Broadclyst, formerly ‘Countrywide Town and Country’, should be impressed by its new look, layout and wider range of products - along with a brand new offer especially for Exeter’s equine enthusiasts.

Following extensive feedback, the store has been redesigned and refitted to take customers’ needs more fully into account - offering a wider choice of products, services and staff expertise.

Devon is a growing trading area for Countrywide, with Exeter now home to one of the leading rural retailer’s flagship stores, stocking as many as 4,000 new lines and offering the local rural community the full Countrywide range of products and services.

The new look Countrywide store opened to customers on Saturday the 29 June.

“Exeter has a thriving equestrian community,” says Store Manager, Claire Ward. “A lot of whom are already loyal users of our store and the refit shows our commitment to further meeting their needs.  Equine World is now much bigger and, much to the delight of our Equine Specialists Donna Samson and Olivia Van Grudgings, filled with some fantastic new product lines including  great ranges of hats, boots and body protectors for which we have qualified staff available to ensure safe and correct fitting.”

Agriculture is also a priority in the Exeter area and many additions have been made to the farming and smallholder ranges, specifically in the electrical fencing, feed and livestock equipment areas.  Local Countrywide Farm Account Managers Steve Willats and Chris Collings will be supporting the store providing expert guidance and support.  The store now also features Countrywide’s Value range which, by sitting alongside top end named brands on items such as feeds, bedding and footwear gives customers a great choice of products and prices.

Pets and Clothing and Footwear are further areas to receive special attention with the pet department expanded to feature an increased range of dog and cat food also wild bird feed and feeders and small animal feed, bedding and accessories.

The full team of in-store specialists at Exeter include AMTRA qualified animal health experts, trained to advise on and dispense animal medicines including both equine and pet products.

“Exeter has always been a very successful equestrian and rural outlet in a key area,” says Steve Collard, Stores Director for Countrywide. “Following this refit we are delighted to be able to offer our customers the full Countrywide range. We have also taken the opportunity to refresh the store to create a better shopping environment - brighter, more spacious, easier to get around – and now with more staff to give an even higher level of service than before.”

“This is a very exciting time for everyone at Countrywide Exeter,” says Store Manager Claire.

“The majority of our staff are members of the local community and have a real understanding of the products and our customers' needs. We will be joined by other local specialists – such as vets and saddlers – during the launch weekend and we are all looking forward to showing both new and existing customers around our new look store.
