Crafting: Not just for lockdown
The Creative Craft Show returns to Exeter this September
From families and friends to Olympian Tom Daley, the world of craft has attracted many new enthusiasts over the last 18 months and ICHF Events’ Creative Craft Show, returning to Exeter’s Westpoint Arena from Thursday 23rd– Sunday 26th September, has something for everyone.
From sewing, felting and papercraft to knitting and jewellery making, the Creative Craft Show brings the hottest new supplies and latest trends to die hard crafters and newcomers alike in the South West.
Simon Burns, Managing Director of ICHF Events said: “We’re so pleased to be able to bring back our Exeter show this year and give visitors the chance to enjoy this annual craft event that they know and love. Over the last 18 months we have seen the craft community grow exponentially, and we look forward to welcoming these new crafters to the show to restock their craft stores and pick up tips, hints and tricks from some of our experts.”
Simon continues: “The support and feedback from our followers has been amazing and we know that there is a huge appetite for the show to return, enabling crafters to indulge in the hobby they love. We have procedures in place across all our events to make them safe and enjoyable for all.”
Visitors to the Creative Craft Show can dive in to knitting, sewing, felting, papercraft, calligraphy, stained glass, jewellery making plus update their supplies stash with the latest products and creations from the world of creative craft. Inspiration, ideas and tips from experts are also available with a range of workshops and demonstrations including Lyndsey, from Crafting with Lyndsey. Based in South Devon, Lyndsey delivers craft workshops, retreats and parties across the South West. She has a range of craft kits that are perfect for beginners and those with experience that want to try something new. Lyndsey joined the Creative Craft Show LIVE community during lockdown early last year to deliver a series of virtual workshops and will be joining the shows in person in September to provide workshops in a range of subjects including macrame, fabric flower making, bargello needlepoint, and finger knitting.
Lyndsey says: “Personally, during the last 18 months I have seen a huge rise in the number of people wanting to try new crafts and I have taught hundreds of people with my online workshops, reaching every corner of the UK. I am looking forward to returning to in person shows and can't wait for the Creative Craft Show in Exeter this September. I hope that I will get to meet, in person some of the wonderful people I have met through online crafting over the last 18 months.”
Workshops at the show provide visitors with the opportunity to try something new and come away with a finished piece to keep. Other workshops to look out for at the Creative Craft Show Exeter include:
The Modern Calligraphy Company
Aiming to inspire beginners, enthusiasts and professionals to continue to develop their calligraphy skills and their passion for lettering, The Modern Calligraphy Company is coming to Exeter for the first time for demonstrations, hints, tips and workshops plus the chance to stock up on kits and tools.

A group of non-profit textile artists and tutors who craft designer wearables, interiors, accessories, jewellery, sculptural plus eco printing and patchwork who will be hosting workshops and demonstrations throughout the show.

To ensure visitor safety at the show, aisles will be wider to accommodate social distancing and floor markings and clear signage will be used throughout the show. Those attending workshops can sit at individual tables with pre-packaged craft kits to minimise contact where possible.
