Dart Fresh offers fast, free delivery to customers as supermarkets report huge online queues
Dart Fresh are delighted to offer a fast and free home delivery service for customers aimed at minimising the spread of Coronavirus.
The award-winning fresh produce supplier, based in Exeter, is cornering the home delivery market in the current lockdown, offering free delivery throughout Devon, Somerset and Dorset!
Customers can enjoy next day delivery, six days a week, if they place their orders* online by 3pm the day before, on the e-commerce shop http://www.dartfresh.delivery or by phone on 01392 873036.
On Tuesday (5) January, the BBC reported that supermarkets’ online shopping operations are buckling under the strain as customers rushed to book deliveries as the new coronavirus lockdown began – customers are sadly having real trouble securing delivery slots.
Contrastingly, Dart Fresh haven’t had to turn any customers away, are open for business and have a fleet of twenty refrigerated vans capable of handling well over six hundred deliveries per day!
Jamie Walsh, Head of Operations said: “We are well practised in home deliveries now and lockdown three shouldn’t make any difference to our excellent service levels or produce availability. Our locally sourced, fresh produce is available to our customers with no online waiting time or queues. We pride ourselves on supplying top quality meat, fish, fruit & veg, pantry ingredients and a great range of household essentials. Moreover, when customers shop with Dart Fresh Home Delivery, they can be assured that they will be helping local farmers, artisanal producers and their families.”
The Pritchard family have been involved with the fresh produce business, based in Exeter, for sixty-four years, and the business prides itself on being at the heart of the community as both a supplier and employer. Today, John Pritchard heads-up the business, working with son in law Jamie and son, George as a regional retail, online and catering fresh produce and ingredients supplier.
Top quality local meat, game, fish, fruit and veg is on offer, as well as award-winning local artisanal produce from Sutton Lucy Dairy, Shaldon Bakery, Hogsbottom Chutneys and Preserves and Frobishers Juices.
Eating great quality produce not only boosts overall health and maintains strength but helps to cheer people up in these uncertain times.
John Pritchard said: “Our more vulnerable customers are anxious about visiting some shops and worried about the possibility of having to stay at home for what may be quite a long period of time.
“Offering free delivery throughout Devon, Somerset and Dorset, as well as offering other essential household items, while Covid-19 is around, is our attempt to reassure and thank our customers for taking the responsible step of staying home.
“We only want to be there to help, and that is the reason we started home deliveries in the first instance.”
John’s Son, George Pritchard, added: “It is important that we all do our bit to help each other in tough times like these.
“This kind of togetherness is the kind of magic that happens in fantastic local communities like ours.
“Using our fleet of twenty refrigerated vans to ensure we deliver fresh, local produce to our customers the next day, in perfect condition seems the natural thing to do and common sense, when residents, especially the elderly, are being advised to stay indoors.”
We’re still here at the end of the phone for a chat and are more than happy for customers to call the home delivery team to make their orders on 01392 873036. We can send out price lists if required.
“We are fully prepared to deliver immediately and are actively preparing for demand to pick up in the next few weeks.”
