Devon Heritage Centre to hold second annual ‘Open Day’

Devon County Council’s ’Devon Heritage Centre’ is throwing open its doors this weekend for its second annual ‘Open Day’ held in association with the Friends of Devon’s Archives.

Taking place on Saturday 16 March at Great Moor House in Exeter, the ’Partnerships and Projects’ themed day will focus on areas where the County Council’s Heritage Service is liaising with other heritage institutions and societies to enhance the provision of information and records relating to Devon’s rich history.

There will be a programme of speakers which will include Tim Wormleighton, Devon County Council’s Heritage Services Manager, Philippe Planel, Chairman of the Devon History Society, Todd Gray, Acting Chairman of the Friends of Devon’s Archives, Maureen Selley, Chairman of the Devon Family History Society, and, from further afield, Paul Seaward, Director of the History of Parliament Trust.

There will also be a range of exhibition stands from societies and organisations, behind-the-scenes tours of the strongrooms and the Conservation Studio and an introductory palaeography session.
There is no need to book and refreshments will be available.
