EDDC gets smart with the East Devon App
East Devon District Council has introduced a new service for residents who like to carry out transactions on their mobile phone.
The East Devon App enables people to access various council services on their smartphone, with both i-Phone and Android systems supported.
Since the App is EDDC’s free gift to residents for Christmas and the New Year, there’s a festive theme to the promotional campaign, using cards wishing people an “Appy New Year”.
Promotional events for the new application will be taking place in each town across East Devon in the run-up to Christmas, at attractions like the switching on of festive lights or late- night shopping events.
For the glittering red-carpet launch of the App last week Santa was on duty greeting theatre-goers who made up the audience for a special Christmas show in Sidmouth.
On arrival at the Manor Pavilion for the show “A Bone to Pick with Santa” theatre-goers were treated a free ‘Celebrations’chocolate and a copy of EDDC’s Appy Christmas card. The first 25 arrivals also received a small glass of sparkling wine. The foyer at the Manor Pavilion has a red carpet.
