Exeter pub evacuated after fire
An Exeter pub was evacuated this morning after a tumble drier caught fire.
Fire crews were called just before 1am to the Mill on the Exe in Bonhay Road after the landlord reported the laundry room within the property was smoke logged.
Firefighters instructed the landlord to evacuate the building and three pumping appliances from Exeter were mobilsed to the scene.
Upon arrival the area in and around the ground floor laundry room were found to be heavily smoke logged.
Two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet plus two positive pressure ventilation fans were used to extinguish fire and disperse smoke from property.
Crews confirmed the was a fire in a tumble dryer and the cause was accidental.
