Exeter's celebrity chef picks up yet another award

Exeter's own celebrity chef Michael Caines is celebrating after scooping yet another award.

The Sunday Times top 100 Restaurants guide ranked Gidleigh Park number 2 - up one place on its 2011 position.

It is also the only restuarant to appear in the top three for three years running.

Gidliegh has the best wine list, was second best for service but was also the fourth most expensive.

The newspaper said: "Chef Michael Caines is the undoubted the star of this long-running show, for all his insistence on it being a team effort."

Michael told The Exeter Daily he was delighted with the accolade, which also saw another of his restaurants, The Bath Prirory moving up to 32nd place.
