Explore East Devon's rockpools

East Devon District Council countryside team is inviting holiday makers and local families to come and discover the rock pools of East Devon.

The team is holding four special events in August and September so that you can explore the mysterious world of rock pools with the Countryside Rangers and learn where to look and what to look for.

The rock pool events are being held on:

  • Friday 5 August, 1.30pm to 3.30pm, Exmouth beach, to the left of the lifeboat station, Queens Drive
  • Tuesday 16 August, 10am to 12noon, Ladram Bay beach (right hand side of the bay when facing the sea) please note that there is a charge at the Ladram Bay car park
  • Monday 22nd August, 10am to 12noon, Jacob’s Ladder, Sidmouth

Some nets and buckets will be provided.

These events are non-bookable, children must be accompanied by an adult, a donation of £2 per child is suggested.

The summer of rock pooling comes to an end with a very special event on Monday 12 September.

Discover ‘Starfish by starlight’ from 8pm to 9.30pm at Exmouth beach, to the left of the lifeboat station, Queens Drive. Children must be over 8 years old to attend.
